Learning Gardens

Courtesy of the UCS Garden Committee and Garden Club, UCS' backyard is home to an assortment of learning gardens. The Garden Committee oversees the classroom's raised-bed garden plots, while the Garden Club has turned a 250'x250' plot of vacant land into a bountiful field of fruits, vegetables, and flowers. Students have learned valuable lessons in math and science, as well as the value of patience and consistency.

McBride Family Gymnasium

As part of our drive to create a new campus, UCS was fortunate to have the support of the McBride family as we built a first-class gymnasium. The McBride Family Gymnasium acts as the heart of UCS's athletic and extracurricular activities, with everything from basketball to musical performances to community events taking place on any given day.

Outdoor Play & Learning Areas

The most recent addition to the UCS grounds is a nature-based play and learning area in the UCS back lot which was created by P.L.A.Y. (Parents Loving Active Youth). This group of enterprising UCS parents designed the play space, secured funding and donations of materials, and built the learning area in the fall of 2010. The space features a host of plants and trees, a spiral walking path, tire play areas, and a pergola.

Science Lab

UCS believes that our children must receive a strong foundation in math and the sciences as part of their elementary and middle school education. As such, our science lab is equipped with the latest in facilities and technology, and helps our students enter high school well prepared for the next level in science.

Sullivan Library

Even in this age of digital technology, UCS believes that the library must remain a stronghold of academics and quiet thought. We are grateful to the Sullivan family for sponsoring our library, where students can learn lifelong study habits and love of reading for learning and for pleasure.
